Black Bear Beauty

Friday was the first full day of school and I thought I would enjoy the sunshine and take my dog for a 5km walk around the neighbourhood while the kids were at school.

It was a beautiful day with clear skies and we were about halfway home, walking along a slough that we usually see plenty of birds, squirrels and other wildlife at. It was unusually quiet and then I realized why – there was a rather large Black Bear just across the slough!

Luckily my dog didn’t spot it and kept quiet so I crouched down and took a short video as he sauntered away.

The bear walked away from the slough and into an area that is all fields and bush. I warned a few other walkers heading that direction to keep an ear out but honestly felt quite amazed and honoured to have seen such a magnificent creature up so close!

This post is not Road Trip related, but it was too cool not to share! It is also a good reminder that sometimes you do not have to drive far from home, all you need to do is explore your own neighbourhood to experience the wonders of nature.

Short but sweet, I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading! Don’t forget to Like this post and click Follow to receive notifications when I post new blogs!
