I promised my daughter a trail ride while we were in the Caribou, and that’s exactly what we did!
Located a short drive off Highway 97C, 15 kilometres north of 100 Mile House. It would be approximately 6 hours driving from Vancouver.
Horseback rides are a reasonable $40/hour and led by an experienced wrangler. Our trail guide was great with my daughter and once she found out it was her first trail ride, she took the time to give her an in-depth rundown of what to do before we got ready to head out.
This is a working ranch, with cabins for rent as well as daily trail rides, wagon/sleigh rides, and a variety of activities for both winter and summer seasons.
Inside, there are lots of rustic decor throughout and they also have a small hot tub down by the cabins!
The ride took us through a variety of terrain, and we got to see their herd of cows up close and personal!
These guys were on the road on our drive up to the ranch, and then we got to ride past them again on our trail ride! They definitely didn’t want to move in a hurry, it was pretty funny to see.

We had a fantastic trail ride through a variety of terrain and got to try some trotting and galloping too. The creaking of the salad, the sun on our faces, and getting in a rhythm with your horse, are just some of my favourite things about trail rides!
As always, thank you for reading!! If you end up near 100 Mile House and are looking for something to do, or somewhere to stay, I highly recommend Spring Lake Ranch!
