Sometimes adventures don’t have to be planned, or very long. This unplanned Sunday drive brought me to Gill road in Chilliwack and was just the reset I needed. So many beautiful views!
Bench FSR is one of my favourite drives, but in the Fall with the leaves changing colours it is even more beautiful.
I love the views along this drive and honestly come up here whenever I can.
I am a busy Mom of two kids, so I fit the adventure in when I can.
Even if it’s just 20 minutes to sit by the lake before I have to head back home, it’s worth it to me to have that reset and recharge.
Mount Woodside is another one of my favourite drives!
I was lucky enough to get the launch pad all to myself with my fur baby and sat in silence enjoying the views, which are quite breathtaking.
The forestry road is pretty beat up, so airing down is always a good idea.
20 Mile Bay is a gorgeous Recreation Site that has camping and a day use area that sits right on Harrison Lake.
It’s a long drive full of beautiful views and one I highly recommend. The forestry road is a bumpy one, but I have seen all sorts of trailers hauled down that road.
Skwellepil Creek Rec Site is a beautiful spot managed by the 4WDABC.
There are two areas to camp in, up in the forest area, or down by the boat launch.
It is often busy, but the majority of campers respect the rules and each other and it stays pretty quiet.
The old Thurston Correctional Facility was closed many years ago and then the buildings were torn down. Mostly concrete foundations and the odd set of concrete steps remain. Located off Chilliwack Lake Road in Beautiful British Columbia, one can hope this place helped heal some people while here.
Thompson Regional Park is located on Chilliwack Lake Road, in the beautiful Chilliwack River Valley.
It features flush toilets, walking trails, a small playground and a covered area with tables. There is also a monument here.
